Surprise!
It was around 2.39p.m. when I saw this out-of-the-ordinary sighting. This was my second time witnessing this type of peculiarity as I drive along the long highway from school towards Keningau. Okay, I know I'm not supposed to take pictures while driving especially when driving along a highway of loggings..but I just couldn't help it.
Look at the car in front of me...what do you see?
From the boot of the car, you can see a boy in school uniform sitting cosily inside the boot. There were three boys inside. I pitied them for a minute when suddenly the boy on the left gave me an obscene sign! Celaka punya budak...nama saja sudah tingkatan...so I thought.
Ten minutes later, the car signalled to the left indicating that the driver is going to stop. I noticed that this car is a sort of "school van". I like to call it "school pirate" because it reminded me of "pirate cars" back where I used to teach.
Upon my surprise, as the children disembarked from the car, I saw that the boys were wearing navy blue trousers indicating that they are still in primary school! Kecik-kecik suda pandai kasi PAK YU sama orang??!! buduh!
But, buduh or not buduh, still they are just kids. Why can't the driver give them a decent seat inside? Are they carrying too many students? This shouldn't happen. What if they hit a logging truck or vice versa?
By the way, as the rainy season continues it flow, I'd like to show a picture of my school :
Macam di New Zealand kan kabus dia? :-)
Till then, never put your children inside a boot of a car. If you can't fit them all, buy an MPV.
